Fern Heyman, President, IHRM
Fern joined Accelcia Business Services in 2006 to build and run its HRO practice. Currently she serves as the virtual VP of HR for many of our clients as well as overseeing the HRO practice. Fern has more than 20 years of experience in HR and Recruiting. This spans founding and running her own Executive Search firm to a VP for HR and Recruiting at Cambridge Technology Partners, a 5,000-employee management and technology consulting firm.
Fern brings extensive business experience as a strategic business partner in driving process change, accelerating company performance through exceptional leadership capabilities and employee performance management initiatives, development of total compensation programs, talent acquisition, building sustainable organizational models, employee communication programs, and training. She has held roles as principal, vice president, and director of human resources for companies including Rapt, VerticalNet, DayNine, and CTP. Fern holds a degree in Psychology from the City University of New York and is active in many local and professional HR and Recruiting organizations.
Anurag Pal, President and CEO
Anurag brings a unique blend of ‘hands-on’ operational experience and very strong analytical, reasoning and strategic capabilities. Anurag’s experience encompasses finance, controllership and FPA and operational functions. Over his career Anurag has set up and run supply-chain, outsourced operations, the finance and accounting functions and managed a $200M P&L for HP. He has delivered product direction and implemented strategic selling techniques for startup software vendors, and has led several large cross-functional teams to deliver and deploy new technologies, products and services to diverse markets. Anurag holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, with an emphasis in Finance, and a BS Electronics and Communication Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, India.
Bina Baid, Controllership Practice Director
Bina joined Accelcia in March 2010 and leads our Controllership Practice. Bina has 15+ years experience in accounting & finance spanning large companies (eg. Symantec/Cosine Communications/ Broadvision) to small startups (Xangati) in various leadership roles ranging from accounting manager, revenue manager, and controller. Bina’s expertise in accounting and FP&A comes from her strong accounting background and analytical skills. She has worked in a wide range of industries: high tech: software, telecom, and traditional industries such as trading and automotive manufacturing. Bina is a CPA and also holds Chartered Accounting and Cost Accounting degrees from India.
Ruby Sahiwal, Chairman
Ruby’s experience encompasses running factories at GE, advising CEOs of Fortune 100 companies while at McKinsey and starting and managing four software/services companies. Ruby is currently co-Founder and Chairman of Accelcia Business Services, and Founder and CEO of Simpacta, a company focused on providing solutions for Value Based Selling. Most recently Ruby was COO of Ketera Technologies. There he achieved a dramatic turnaround – increasing bookings from 600K to 16M in one year and at the same time paring cost down by over 70%. Previously, as COO of VerticalNet Solutions, Ruby envisioned and created the 300+ person strong Enterprise Software arm of VerticalNet from its existing software assets and acquisitions of Isadra & Tradeum. Ruby was President of Tradeum prior to its acquisition. Before joining Tradeum, Ruby was the Vice President of eBusiness Services for i2, and headed the Strategic Opportunity Assessment group. Ruby joined i2 Technologies from McKinsey & Company, where he served Telecom and Semi-conductor clients in several strategy and operations engagements. He has also performed operations, product development and program management functions for a number of divisions of General Electric for over 6 years, where he is a graduate of GE's two year Manufacturing Management Program (MMP). Ruby has an MBA from the University of Chicago with an emphasis on Strategy & Economics and a Dual BS in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from SUNY at Buffalo.

Avanish Sahai
Avanish is an accomplished entrepreneur, investor and advisor at numerous technology and services firms. After many years in management consulting, he has been a senior executive at various venture-backed technology companies. Avanish is currently VP Marketing at BDNA, provider of IT management solutions to global enterprises and major government agencies. He was also CEO of Cogency Software, where he repositioned the company to target the fast-growing hedge fund marketplace. Formerly, he was VP Marketing and Products at Blazent (Benchmark, Bain, Pequot) and also vice president and general manager at Impresse Corporation (NASDAQ: EFII, backed by Kleiner Perkins and Benchmark). Avanish is co-founder and member of the board at Accelcia Business Services and CareVault Corporation (consumer healthcare software). Previsouly, he served as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, where he established and co-led the Software and Services practice. He began his career at Oracle Corporation as a senior design engineer and product manager.
Avanish received his MBA from UCLA Anderson, his MS in Computer Engineering from Boston University, and his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, having moved there from India at an early age.
